planning your session
First, book your session with a 50% Deposit
Simply reach out to me via email or my Contact Form and share your details, info about your family and when you're thinking of doing your family photos. Once I get your inquiry, we'll secure a date and I'll send you a proposal. which includes your contract and invoice. When you complete your proposal and pay the 50% deposit, this officially reserves your time on my calendar.
it's time for your newborn session!
Next, we meet at our decided location within 1-2 hours before sunset to have fun, play and enjoy the beauty of nature. My favorite locations are a beautiful backdrop to spending this special time with your family. I guide you through every portion of the session, including direction and making sure you look your best, while also feeling natural and relaxing together. Imagine NOT feeling awkward or stressed the whole time!
FInally, Receive your photographs & purchase gift prints, artwork or photo albums
My sessions are all inclusive. That means you don't have to choose between your favorite images, rather you have access to all the images that tell the unique and personality-filled story of your family. You'll be sent the full gallery of images (50-60 images) in both color and black+white in a private online gallery, from which you can download, share and even purchase gift prints, wall art and high quality photo albums.

I provide you with my exclusive Client Guide, which walks you through best tips for preparing for your session both as a new mom as well as planning outfits for you and your baby and family. I'm here to make the process easy and exciting! The rest of your payment will be due within 1 week of your session date.

Riv was such an asset to my birth team. She was so helpful during my labor and captured all of the powerful moments.
My favorite photos she captured though, were the newborn and lifestyle photos about 2 weeks after my daughter was born. I treasure all of the precious closeups of my little newborn.
The details of the moments I will never get back in real life, but now have the photos to relish in that fleeting time forever. So grateful to RL and her sweetness. 100% recommend to anyone looking for a newborn photographer!

Common FAQs
Q: So, it's all inclusive, which means I get all the digitals, right?
A: That's exactly right! Your session includes all of the absolute best images from your session, totally between 50-60 High Res images, edited in my signature style, in both color & b+w. I want you to have the WHOLE story of your family's love, personality and time together without having to only choose your favorites. You can then choose from the gallery, which ones you want to have printed as gifts, for your wall or you can even purchase a beautiful photo album that I will design for you!
Q: What kind of equipment do you use?
A: This might start getting a bit technical, but I personally use a Nikon Z6ii with prime lenses. I bring some creative tools with me as well as a couple different lenses, extra memory cards and batteries so no moment gets missed.
Q: Do you offer any albums, prints, canvases, etc?
A: Totally! But I want you feeling 1,000% comfortable and excited about the quality of your photographs before placing orders on those. That way, you only order exactly what you want, when you want, and when you know with confidence that they are going to look amazing on your walls and in your fine art heirloom albums. And all of this is done & ordered right through your online gallery!
Q: Do you offer payment plans?
A: Yes, I do! Traditional payments are 50% due at the time of booking (within a week) and the final 50% is due within a week prior to your session day. But, if you wanted to do the payment plan, I can stretch it into equal 1/3's if that works best for you. Just let me know what you prefer, and I will make it happen. It's that easy.
Q: what happens if the weather forecast isn't great?
We will discuss it and make a plan together. The weather here in Arizona is usually pretty stable but during certain seasons it can be unpredictable so I don't like to make a final decision until the night before or even the day of. I am happy to reschedule if it looks like rain but if your family is up for stomping in puddles and clear umbrellas, then so am I!
Q: How do I book you for the portrait session?
A: Love that question the most! To book me to document your family's story and love, simply reach out via my Contact Form and let me know your contact information, a little bit about your family and when you're thinking of doing your session and we'll get the party started!
